Training Philosophy

The core principle practiced at Viking Fitness is the management and elimination of pain.  This process precedes all the other aims of health and fitness.  The reason for it is quite simple: If one is constantly in pain not only will that effect the quality of movement but it will effect an individuals ability to maintain the consistent application of principles over time.  First we get out of pain, then we get in shape.

After we are able to get out of pain, then we can begin to address issues such as weight loss, muscle building, mobility, flexibility and balance.  All these features of health and fitness are interconnected.  No one area can be ignored because doing so will lead us back to where we began: in pain.  Health and fitness is a dynamic lifestyle of growth and change.  Periods of great progress can be followed by setbacks and stagnation but that is the nature of engaging in a healthy lifestyle.  Training at Viking Fitness is about more than a bathing suit at summer time or fitting into a tux for wedding.  It is about engaging life through health and fitness and becoming the most we can be as a human that is possible.
